I don’t know which is sadder: the fact that there are obviously people that stupid out there or the fact that I’m not surprised that people that stupid actually exist!
Free computer virus finds willing victims
Hundreds of people have clicked on an online advertisement to download a free computer virus that said, “Is your PC virus-free? Get it infected here!”.
Data security firm F-Secure says 409 people clicked on computer specialist Didier Stevens’ ad during a six-month campaign on Google’s Adword.
“Some of them must have clicked on it by mistake,” F-Secure spokesman Mikky Hypponen said.
“Some must have been curious or stupid.”
Mr Stevens says there was no virus involved and the campaign was an experiment aiming to show such advertising systems can be used for malicious intent.

Then of course there’s the good old Nigerian scam that people are still getting sucked into.
