Gaming and that other thing… oh yeah, life!
February 20th, 2008
Been awhile since I’ve posted here. Not much of an excuse really, but then again it’s my blog and I’ll post when I want to I suppose ;)
The wedding went well although trying to plan a wedding, even one as small as ours, is not something I’d recommend anybody do with just a few months to spare. Most of the photos are up on Facebook and I’ve got to remember to get copies of them all, put them on my computer and then put the best of them up on Flickr so they can be linked to here. Currently anticipating this being done by our first wedding anniversary. Maybe :)
Married life is great, and I expect Ben has been relieved to find that my prediction that being married wouldn’t really make a difference to our everyday life was absolutely true. That said, it is a little bit different in a good way. I haven’t been able to put my finger on it, but I’d say part of it is being able to say "husband" and not "partner" or "boyfriend", "spouse" etc. " Most of those others make me very uncomfortable to say for some reason. Too ambiguous, too childish, too formal. Also now we don’t get asked when we’re getting married, although the "when are you having kids?" question hasn’t gone away no matter how many times we tell people we don’t want/shouldn’t have kids.
I finally got Leopard for my Macbook Pro which cleared up my internet connection problems so less and less of my time is spent in Windows now, especially since I caved in and got the Burning Crusade expansion for World of Warcraft. I’m so pathetic. The only "I will never go back!" thing I’ve managed to stick with is not eating again at Red Rooster and green chicken was involved there so not surprising really. I blame the summer weather and the many hours we spent playing WoW over that time. Summer just feels like WoW weather now. Very sad. Still Burning Crusade is quite good and playing on a roleplay server is still very fun. I haven’t really gotten into the roleplaying and writing as much this time, but I have indulged in some every so often. Poor Kerylyn is wasting away, since I naturally got the urge to play with the new characters. I’ll get back to her one day. At the moment I’m working on levelling a Blood Elf Hunter to play with Ben and our friend who are unfortunately not on a roleplay server. Non-roleplay servers are painful and excruciating. I’ll leave it at that for now.
So I’ve finally gotten around to downloading some Mac blogging software to replace my beloved Blogdesk (windows only gorramit!) and I’m hoping that it’ll encourage me to post regularly. I really just hate replacing software that I loved and had gotten used to. I’m giving Qumana a try and so far it seems to be treating me gently although t’s a little early to tell whether or not it’s going to turn into a vicious worg and rip my still beating heart out of my chest. I’m quietly hopeful :)
